Year 10 Business Students Shine in ASDA Business Challenge!

Oulton Academy's Year 10 Business students recently dived into the second session of the exciting ASDA Business Challenge, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit!

The session kicked off with a fun and engaging team-building activity: students were tasked with using Lego to build a structure that could effectively "rescue" an Elf-On-The-Shelf. This challenge fostered collaboration and imaginative problem-solving, setting a dynamic tone for the day.

Following the Lego activity, the students shifted their focus to the main event: developing innovative ideas for a new range of ASDA products. After careful consideration and brainstorming, the Oulton Academy teams decided on an exciting and vibrant theme: Chinese New Year! With their theme in place, the students got to work. They collaboratively created detailed mood boards of potential products, exploring a range of ideas that celebrated the cultural richness of Chinese New Year. From festive decorations to unique food items, the creativity flowed.

The day concluded with students presenting their ideas and mood boards. They engaged in valuable feedback sessions, discussing their concepts with staff from ASDA and their peers from other participating schools. This interactive process allowed them to refine their ideas, gain different perspectives, and practice their presentation skills.

It was a fantastic session that not only developed the students' business acumen but also their ability to work as a team, think creatively, and present their ideas with confidence. Well done to all the participating Year 10 students for their enthusiasm and excellent work! We eagerly anticipate the next stage of the competition.
