Pupil Premium
Oulton Academy is committed to meeting the educational and welfare needs of disadvantaged pupils. All staff share responsibility for providing a nurturing environment that supports their pastoral, social, and academic development.
The Pupil Premium, introduced by the Government in 2011, provides additional funding for Children in Care and students from low-income families. Its purpose is to close the achievement gap and improve outcomes for disadvantaged learners.
At Oulton Academy, we use this funding to deliver evidence-based strategies that promote academic progress and personal growth. Our goal is for every student to leave each Key Stage equipped with the skills needed for the next stage of education. For details, see our Pupil Premium statement below.
We prioritise strong foundations in core subjects and early identification of individual needs. Working collaboratively with the Pupil Premium Leader, Inclusion Leader, SENCo, and Subject Leaders, teachers implement high-quality teaching and targeted interventions.
Impact is monitored termly by the Pupil Premium Steering Group (Mr. Higgins, Mrs. L. Sims, Mr. Gumbley, Mr. N. Carolan) and reviewed annually.
