Oulton Academy was delighted to welcome Year 7 parents and carers to our recent Information Evening, providing an excellent opportunity for families to meet with form tutors and discuss how students have settled into academy life.
The evening offered parents dedicated time to speak with their child's form tutor, celebrate successes from the first half term, and share any questions or concerns. These valuable conversations helped strengthen the partnership between home and school, ensuring that students continue to receive the best possible support both in and out of the classroom.
Following the meetings, families enjoyed a complimentary supper, with traditional pie and peas proving particularly popular alongside a selection of other refreshments. The food was warmly received by parents, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where families could continue conversations with staff and one another.
The event was extremely well attended, with many parents commenting positively on the opportunity to meet academy staff in an informal setting and gain a deeper understanding of their child's experience at Oulton Academy.
Principal, Mr Higgins, said:
"Strong communication between home and school is one of the most important factors in helping young people thrive. It was fantastic to see so many Year 7 families joining us for the evening. The conversations between parents and form tutors were incredibly positive, and the event provided another opportunity to strengthen the partnerships that support our students' success. I would also like to thank our catering team for providing such a wonderful meal, which was enjoyed by all."
The Information Evening formed part of Oulton Academy's ongoing commitment to building strong relationships with families and ensuring that parents feel informed, involved and connected to academy life.
This event welcomed one half of the Year 7 cohort, with the remaining families set to attend a second Information Evening next Tuesday. We look forward to welcoming them and continuing these important conversations.
Thank you to all parents and carers who attended and helped make the evening such a success.
