Oulton Academy Receives Gold Status for The Schools Mental Health Award!

Following a rigorous process, Oulton Academy has been awarded the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, ‘School Mental Health Award’ – Gold​ Status. 

This is a reflection of all the hard work the staff at Oulton have put in to supporting our staff and students. In particular, well done Miss O'Connor for leading on this supported on the accreditation day by Miss Sims and Mr Carr.

Oulton Academy has presented a detailed profile of evidence that demonstrates they are Excelling across all eight competencies of the School Mental Health Award. The school has used the framework and content of the Award to good effect to develop their mental health and wellbeing strategies, structures, and practices.

Oulton staff talked with passion and evidenced well how they have implemented numerous comprehensive policies and practices that involves all elements of the school. They highlighted the strengthening in the culture of the school towards both staff and student mental health and well-being.
