Year 7 Student Charlie Shines in The School of Rock Musical

Charlie, a Year 7 student, took to the stage in the popular musical The School of Rock, impressing audiences with his energetic performance. The production, held in York, showcased Charlie’s talent and hard work, as he starred in a key role in the adaptation of the hit movie-turned-musical.

Charlie’s mother expressed her gratitude for the support her son received from his school community during this exciting journey. “We just wanted to say thank you for the support you [Miss Nicholson] and Mr. Higgins gave Charlie last week in doing his show. He’s had an absolute ball doing it,” she said, highlighting how much the experience meant to Charlie and his family.

The school’s principal, Mr. Higgins, praised the importance of such opportunities for young students. “The performing arts are crucial in helping our students build confidence, express themselves, and explore their creativity,” said Mr. Higgins. “Charlie’s participation in The School of Rock is a testament to how these experiences enrich students' lives both in and out of the classroom.”
