Oulton Academy Hosts Year 11 Information Evening: A Pathway to Success

This evening, Oulton Academy held its much-anticipated Year 11 Information Evening, where students and parents came together to learn about the essential steps needed for a successful academic year. The event aimed to provide vital information on how students can excel in their examinations and make the most of their final year at the academy.

A key feature of the evening was the Careers Fair, where students and parents had the opportunity to explore a variety of post-16 options. Representatives from numerous sixth form providers, apprenticeship programs, and colleges were present, offering guidance on further education and career pathways. This allowed students to ask questions, gather information, and start planning their futures with confidence and clarity. The fair emphasised the importance of making informed decisions and highlighted the diverse range of opportunities available after Year 11.

The evening was filled with valuable insights, as we outlined the support available to students, including revision sessions, mentoring opportunities, and guidance on balancing studies with well-being. Parents were also given the tools to support their children throughout this crucial year, emphasising the importance of creating a structured and motivating environment at home.

Principal John Higgins addressed the parents, stressing the importance of hard work and consistent attendance. "Success doesn't happen overnight. It is the result of consistent hard work, commitment, and determination. By showing up every day and putting in the effort, our students give themselves the best possible chance to achieve their goals. Attendance is not just about being present physically; it's about being engaged, prepared, and ready to learn."

With a clear roadmap to success, Oulton Academy is committed to supporting its students every step of the way. The Year 11 Information Evening marked an important milestone in the journey, ensuring that both students and parents feel confident and prepared for the months ahead.
