Successful Year 9 Parents' Evening at Oulton Academy

Oulton Academy welcomed parents and carers of Year 9 students last night for a highly successful Parents' Evening. The event, which took place in East Block, saw an excellent turnout, with families eager to engage with staff about their children’s progress and teachers from all subjects were on hand to provide valuable feedback, celebrate students’ achievements, and discuss ways to support further success. Many parents expressed their gratitude for the dedication and effort teachers invest in helping their children thrive both academically and personally.

Principal Mr. John Higgins commented on the event’s success:
"It was fantastic to see so many families come together to support their children’s education. The evening highlighted the strong partnership between home and school, which is crucial for student success. A big thank you to our staff for their hard work in preparing for the evening and for their ongoing commitment to our students."

Parents were particularly appreciative of the personalised approach, with several noting how much they valued the time and effort teachers devoted to understanding their child's needs.

As Year 9 marks a pivotal stage in students’ educational journey, the evening provided a valuable opportunity for families to discuss GCSE options and set goals for the remainder of the academic year.

Oulton Academy continues to foster strong relationships with its community and remains dedicated to ensuring every student has the tools and support they need to excel.
