Update - School Opening
The Academy aims to open as normal tomorrow, so please plan for your child to attend. If we are able to open, normal uniform expectations will apply, but for tomorrow only, unless notified otherwise, boots or sensible, warmer footwear with better grip will be allowed but no trainers.
The site team will, once again, make every effort to clear and grit the site and a member of school leadership will assess the safety of movement around the school. A final decision on whether we can open safely will be made by 6:30am.
We appreciate the inconvenience this has caused parents, students and staff, but we need to have as much accurate, on the ground, information as possible in the morning. As well as safety, there is much to consider in making the difficult decision to close, including the availability of staff, catering personnel, whether safe evacuation can be made in the event of a fire alarm etc., and of course, the school bus service. Due to our location, once the school buses are cancelled, they cannot be re-instated in time to get everyone to the academy.
Please check your mobile phone in the morning for an update.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
Kind regards,
Oulton Academy
