Oulton Academy Students Explore Future Careers in Construction

As part of Oulton Academy’s ongoing commitment to career development, a group of Year 10 students recently visited Leeds College of Building to explore their post-16 education options. The trip provided an invaluable insight into the opportunities available for students interested in pursuing careers in construction and related industries.

During the visit, students participated in an engaging workshop that outlined the range of courses offered at the college, including apprenticeships and full-time study programs. They also learnt about the application process and entry requirements necessary to secure a place on their chosen course.

Following the workshop, the students were given an extensive tour of the college’s state-of-the-art facilities, which showcased the hands-on learning environments and resources available to support their education. The visit concluded with a lively Q&A session, allowing students to ask questions and gain further clarity on their potential future pathways.

Oulton Academy extends its sincere gratitude to the staff at Leeds College of Building for hosting such an informative and inspiring morning. The experience has provided students with a clearer understanding of their post-16 options and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead in the construction industry.
