Year 11 Pizza Party: A Day of Motivation, Results, and Relaxation
Year 11 students had a memorable day starting with an inspiring motivational speech from Andy Madley, a renowned FIFA referee. Madley shared his experiences from the world of professional football, emphasising the importance of staying calm under pressure and maintaining focus. His words resonated with the students, providing them with valuable strategies to manage stress as they approach their GCSE exams.
Following the motivational talk, students received their mock exam results in a formal setting, simulating the experience they will have in the summer. This exercise aimed to familiarise them with the process and reduce anxiety about the actual exam results day. Teachers were on hand to provide feedback and support, helping students understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
The afternoon was a perfect blend of relaxation and fun. Students gathered outside to enjoy freshly cooked pizza, which was a hit amongst everyone. The sunny weather added to the festive atmosphere, with students sipping on cans of pop and soaking up the sun. Some students organised a friendly football match, showcasing their skills and teamwork, while others chose to relax and chat with friends, enjoying the warm, sunny day.
As the day came to a close, the focus shifted back to the upcoming exams. With only 35 days left until the first GCSE exam, students were reminded of the importance of the final stretch. The school has planned intervention opportunities during the Easter holidays, offering additional support and revision sessions to ensure every student is well-prepared.
This event not only provided a much-needed break but also reinforced the balance between hard work and relaxation. It was a day filled with motivation, camaraderie, and a sense of readiness for the challenges ahead.
