A Positive and Productive Evening at the Year 11 Parents’ Event

This evening, Oulton Academy hosted its Year 11 Parents’ Evening, welcoming a steady stream of families eager to engage with subject teachers and discuss pupils’ progress ahead of a crucial period in the school year.

The atmosphere throughout the event was warm, purposeful, and focused, with conversations centred on celebrating achievements while also identifying clear next steps in preparation for the upcoming Year 11 mock examinations in just a few weeks’ time. These discussions mark an important milestone as students move closer to the summer exam season, helping them refine their revision strategies and build confidence.

Teachers reported meaningful and constructive conversations, noting that parents were keen to understand how best to support their children during this decisive stage of their education.

Principal John Higgins praised the engagement and commitment shown by families:

“It was fantastic to see so many parents this evening. The partnership between home and school is vital, and events like tonight show just how invested our families are in helping students achieve their very best. As we approach mock exams and then the final GCSE season, this kind of shared focus makes a real difference.”

The academy extends its thanks to all parents, carers, and students who attended and contributed to such a positive and productive evening. Staff now look forward to continuing the momentum as Year 11 prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
