Pontefract new college taster day

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Neil Mumby vice principal of Pontefract new college into school to talk to our year 10 cohort about the fantastic upcoming opportunity to visit Pontefract New College and experience a Taster Day. The idea behind the Taster Day is for all students who are considering New College as a post-16 option (or would like to know more about a sixth form college) to be able to experience the college first hand before making their important choices early in Year 11. On the day they will experience four subject sessions, which they will have selected in advance of the day. The fifth session of the day will be a Pathway to Progression Tutorial, which will focus on the different career options available and the steps to take to achieve it. The date of the Taster Day is Friday 27th March 2026. All year 10 students will be issued with a letter this week regarding this opportunity. To be able to attend the day students need to return their permission slip and ALSO sign up online to choose their taster day subjects. To select taster day subjects, visit https://buff.ly/sTjxFEN This page will close on Friday 6th March 2026 to give college time to put together timetables. Any student who misses this deadline will not be able to attend the taster day
