Explorers Conquer Fewston Reservoir: Mud, Rain, and Epic Views!

Our Year 7 and 8 Oulton Explorers proved that a little water won’t dampen their spirits! This week, the group headed out on their second expedition, taking on the scenic trails of Fewston Reservoir.

Nature 1, Rain 0
The day started with a classic Yorkshire drizzle, but our explorers came prepared. Wrapped up in waterproofs and layers, the group didn’t let the weather slow them down. In fact, the damp ground provided the perfect excuse for the highlight of the trip: playing in the mud!

High Energy and Hearty Eats
Between the laughter and the mud-sliding, the group took in some truly fantastic views across the water, fully soaking up the joys of being out in nature. After trekking the perimeter, the team refuelled with a hearty lunch to keep their energy levels high for the final stretch.

What’s Next?
By the time the bus pulled back into school, the group was definitely tired, but the feeling of accomplishment was even stronger. Inspired by their trek, the Explorers are already asking about the next map coordinates.

Stay tuned for more updates—the Oulton Explorers are just getting started!
