Newcastle University Graduate Ambassador Visits Oulton Academy

We had a fantastic visit today from Megan, a Newcastle University Graduate Ambassador, who delivered an informative workshop to our Y8 and Y9 students.

They were introduced to the careers that would be available to them in Humanities and Social Sciences should they decide to go on to Higher Education and given an insight into University life. 

Our students asked some poignant questions regarding independent learning, student finances and mental health support and really impressed our guest with their engagement and perfect display of our school values.

As a result of today's visit, Newcastle University would like to work even more closely with us in the future, which is great news for all of our Oulton Academy students. We hope today's workshop has inspired our students to start thinking about pathways beyond their option choices and GCSEs and start having those conversations about aspirations at home.
