MCAS - Booking Parents Evenings

Parents Evening appointments with your child’s class teacher will be available to book when it gets near to the parents evening. You book these appointments using the academy’s MCAS system.

To book an appointment:

Go onto the MCAS app.

Select Parents Evening from the side menu.

You can then choose either Manual or Quick Book to make the appointments.

To book a slot manually, click on the Teacher you would like to book an appointment with and then select Book next to the slot you would like to select.

To use Quick Book select the time you will be arriving for the Parents Evening from the drop down and then click Find Bookings. The system will then display the appointments it has selected for you. If any are unsuitable/not-required they can deselect them using the tick boxes on the right hand side, otherwise select Book Appointments.

In either case you will receive confirmation at the top of the screen that the appointments have been booked successfully.

Year 8 Parents Evening Only

There will also be an important Curriculum Information element to the evening. In Year 9 students continue all of the subjects that they study in Year 8. The curriculum timings do adapt a little to suit student preferences.

We ask all students to express whether they would like to study History or Geography at GCSE level. They will continue to study both subjects in Year 9 but will have more lessons in the subject they choose.

Many students will begin the pathway to GCSE French/Spanish. For some students this is unlikely to be the best pathway for them and they will begin studying an examined vocational course. There will be presentations to outline this process during the Parents Evening at 4:30pm and 5:30pm. The presentation will take 20 minutes and will take place in the Performing Arts Hall. When booking your appointments please take this into account.
