Year 11 Students Inspired at Oxbridge Morning at Pontefract New College
Yesterday, a group of Year 11 students embarked on an enriching trip to Pontefract New College for an Oxbridge Morning, designed to provide insight and guidance on the journey to securing a place at Oxford or Cambridge.
The event was led by an Achieving Aspirations Coordinator from Cambridge University, who delivered an engaging and informative session. Students received valuable advice on how to prepare for the application process, as well as insights into what makes a successful candidate for these prestigious institutions.
A highlight of the morning was hearing from Pontefract students who had just received the exciting news that they had been offered a place at Oxford or Cambridge for next year. Amongst them was a Year 13 student who had previously attended Oulton Academy and is now set to study at Oxford, serving as an inspiring example of where hard work and ambition can lead.
The trip was an invaluable experience for our Year 11 students, sparking aspirations and providing them with the knowledge and confidence to pursue their academic goals. A huge thank you to Pontefract New College and Cambridge University for such an inspiring event!
